Typical Irish Weekend Continued

I have to voice my opinion that the titles of this and the previous post are misleading - the weather we've had this weekend has not been typical Irish weather!  The sun has been shining almost non-stop, and although daytime temperatures only maxed out at 11C (51.8F) it's been really really pleasant.
I had a sneak peek at the satellite photo for France yesterday, and the weather was ICKY in Céreste!  It's a bit showery there today too, so for once Cork weather wins!

Anyway, back to our weekend activities.  Denis is going away for the rest of the month, so we decided to box all three horses down to Anne's place and go for a hack together.  She lives much further from the city than I do, and the roads around her place are a whole lot quieter and quite a bit more scenic.

All the horses were snoozing in the sun when we went out to catch them.

We brought them in to clean them up a bit - Flurry and GiGi got the sunny side of the yard,

but Paddy was in the shade.

Then we loaded them up - Flurry and GiGi together in my trailer, Paddy on his own in Anne's - and headed off.   Tacked them up in her front garden

and posed for some photos
but not very successfully because GiGi was anxious to get going!

Then we hit the road!

The bright sunshine makes everything look so beautiful.

We met this very excited Arab pony who has fab gateposts in his paddock.
The gateposts are replicated at the other end of the farm, so Anne and Denis posed for a photo call.

We were out for almost two hours, and when we got back we gave the horses a well earned break in the paddock while we went inside for a cuppa.

Bon voyage Denis!

  2. Those are some really impressive gate posts! looks like a great time was had by all and the weather, just lovely. We had a morning of sunshine today but that was it for the whole weekend it's been so grey. Oh well typical November weather I suppose.
