That's a rounded edge, right? |
We had a day of rain yesterday, which has possibly caused their frogs to look a bit yucky again. It's time to dig out the silvetrasol spray (some day I'll learn how to spell that!) and start using it on their frogs, especially their hinds.
Two of Flurry's frogs:
GiGi's sandcracks have finally moved down a bit from the coronet. We have both been looking at these cracks for the last seven years and this is the first time we can see a clear improvement. It's hard to know if this is due to the PHW wraps or the different conditions, but who cares!

The feet look good. Lovely to see the nail holes growing out. I have recently learned the hard way to be very minimalist in my management of their feet. I am sure that their (enviable) environment will pay dividends.
ReplyDeleteThere is a big improvement in GiGis sand cracks all right. More information on the carriage in the background pse..
ReplyDeleteFrom my uneducated eyes, they look great! I can see improvement!
ReplyDeleteA great and inexpensive treatment/prevention for thrush is salt water. I use it almost daily. I just put salt in a spray bottle, fill with water, shake it up and spray it on the bottom of the hooves (after cleaning them out). It's great for getting the dirt out of the grooves and also dries out and kills any infections. :) If there are any open wounds it might sting and the horse could kick so be careful (I've never seen it happen, but safety is always important).
ReplyDeleteThanks folks, @achieve1dream, we'll definitely give that a try once their fett are in a stable condition (no pun intended!)
ReplyDeleteIts very interesting to see the progress your feet have made. Definately the dry weather is a help.
ReplyDelete@Frances, I wish we could have brought Aero too :-( he needs the most help
