Our Paddock Paradise...

...with a deferential nod to Jaime Jackson

The horses are very content in their new field.  It's bigger and much more interesting than where they were, and it's definitely way more interesting than their mudbath field at home.

They have a stream - the Aiguebelle River, actually, but it's pretty low at the moment.

We've seen them drinking from it quite happily, so we don't need to worry about bringing water to them.
To get to the stream, they go through a little wooded area

These are mostly oak trees.  We had a moment of panic when Fani mentioned that they were eating the acorns, as we both remembered that acorns are bad for horses.  However, we did a little research, and found that they are not harmful after a couple of frosts, and there have definitely been a couple of frosts since these acorns fell!

There's a steep climb at the left of the path, up towards the gate and more trees that seem to be good for scratching on.

The path opens out into the field itself, which is probably about 1.5 acres.  They are fed their hay at the far end of the field.
They have horses right beside them, so Ugoline doesn't get lonely when we hack out.

And there's a parking space where we can leave the jeep and tack up the horses, which saves us walking them back up to the yard.

Happy Horses!
